TENSION SPLASH

Formed in 1992 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Tension Splash attracted national attention with their self-titled debut album recorded and produced by Tim Patalan (Sponge) at The Loft. RIP magazine wrote ""Creative, heavy, alternative stuff with appealingly gravelly vocals ...Visceral, honest, edgy. You will like!"" The follow up EP “Soak” (also with Tim Patalan) continued to gain followers for the band. In 2019 (after a brief 25 year hiatus) Tension Splash returned to The Loft to remix and remaster the album and EP. Re-ignited by the rush of being back in the studio, in 2023 Tension Splash released their first new music in three decades – the hard-blues-alternative ""Firefly,” and ""Willing,"" a riff-driven monster track featuring blistering harmonies from Taproot front man Stephen Richards. The new tracks update the vintage Tension Splash big-guitar sound of the 90s, with Gray's instantly identifiable voice in fine form, Nick tearing it up on lead guitar, Sean behind the drums, and Mike thundering on bass. 2024 has so far seen the band release a surprise fiddle-punk version of The Rockets' classic ""Takin' it Back,"" and the brand new fan favorite ""Deep Down,"" with its dueling guitars, huge hook, and high-energy vibe.
