CROWSILVER

Crowsilver’s roots lie in Cornish band Freakshow, founded by Paul, Jem and vocalist Wendy Truscott in 1991. Christian replaced their original drummer in 1993 and, although he left in 1999, the band remained active until 2008, gigging extensively and building up an active fanbase on the local scene. The musicians remained friends and, over ten years after Freakshow’s demise, Paul and Jem started to write again. They shared ideas online and reconnected with Christian for the drumming duties. At this point it was assumed that this would be a rebirth of Freakshow with Wendy back on vocals, but this was not to be. The tracks remained as instrumentals. The band started looking for a new vocalist. Paul recalls this “was an interesting, and frustrating, experience”. Unable to find a suitable candidate, they sent out an instrumental mix and the waiting game started... ...And then Sonia got in touch in August 2023. She previously sang in a few metal bands: Mercury Rain, Endorphin Rush and Tears Of Ea. After a ten-year break, she had been looking to getting back into writing and collaborating again with rock/metal musicians. She was inspired by the instrumental mix and the collaboration started then.
