RxHx project is the brainchild of Vancouver music scene stalwart Bruce Wilson, whose prolific career in art and music first took shape in New York and Detroit after the collapse of his drug-and-alcohol-fueled grunge-punk band Tankhog in the late 1990s. Born on the Florida Panhandle, Wilson grew up spinning his parents’ Velvet Underground and Beatles records on repeat—a sound that would haunt and guide his genre-hopping path for decades to come. After countless moves and years fronting various bands from Tallahassee to Vancouver, Wilson emerged from a heroin-induced haze with no clear sense of direction. A period of recovery and reflection in western Massachusetts ultimately led him back to Vancouver, where he cloistered himself in a small room at the historic Waldorf Hotel. What began as a novel turned into Sunday Morning’s self-titled debut album, released in 2016 to widespread critical acclaim, including a Best Vancouver Release nod from The Georgia Straight.
