BONEYARD LILY

After Finnish doom metal band Planeetta 9 went on an indefinite hiatus in 2023, the band’s songwriting duo Jukka Salo and Sami Suominen cautiously returned to music following a year-long break. Early on, they were joined by Antti Laitinen, a familiar face from Jukka’s previous band projects. The trio set out to create genre-free, beautiful, and melancholic music, drawing inspiration from 1980s The Cure-style gothic rock, 1990s and 2000s alternative and indie rock and pop, touches of Black Sabbath-inspired riffing, and the atmospheric indie sound of the 2020s à la Cigarettes After Sex.
