PUTTING COVID BEHIND

After endless time in quarantine, many people decided to travel outside their home and take a little free breath with friends, family or the wild.
It is no different with TaunJua, host to the TJ´s Muse Bridge show on Museboat Live Channel, who has decided to have her pickup truck on the way across almost the entire USA, leaving the covid behind.

WEEK TWO

Monday - Thursday 6-9-22

Did some genealogy research in Mobile AL. Had some fantastic seafood.

As you can see some of the family joined in and we have before and after pictures A lot was accomplished and it looks better a few more trips and I can move back down. Thursday evening we ate at Lamberts. The home of the Throwed rolls. If you have never eaten at one you should try it. They have 3 locations Ozark, Missouri. Branson, Missouri and Foley Alabama They come around with what they call pickins and serve them to go along with you dinner. Like fried Okra, blackeyed peas, tomatoes and macaroni, and potatoes and onions. All of the pickins' are complementary, so you should never walk out of there hungry.

Decided to get some Magnets made for the back of the truck to advertise Museboat.com. Why not right. I'm driving 1700 miles may as well let everyone see and become curious about the best music in the world. They were made by Stephanie at the Vinyl and T Shirt shop in Summerdale, Alabama. Drove all day to get to our next destination, but stopped in Mammoth springs. Arkansan. Population 929. A National Natural Landmark, Mammoth Spring is one of the world’s largest springs with nine million gallons of water flowing hourly. It forms a 10-acre lake then runs southward as the Spring River, a famous Ozark trout and float stream. Remnants of a mill and hydroelectric plant are part of Mammoth Spring’s history. The park also features an 1886 Frisco train depot and museum. The Legend of Mammoth Springs goes like this A long time ago a group of Indians camped in this area along the Warm Fork River, When a long and terrible drought occurred, the river nearly ran dry. The chief sent out his son and other warriors to seek more water. During the search the chef's son died. While burying him, a large stream of water shot from the gravesite. The Chief vowed the new spring would flow forever since his son died searching for water and it h ad been found while burying him. The spring produces an average rate of 9.78 million gallons of water per hour. It is a constant 58 degrees Fahrenheit. The train depot still stands today and is in use. Some of the pictures show vintage items used during the times. If you ever have any left over truck tail gates never fear there is a use for them see the benches in the photos.

We are staying at the Weaver Inn, Bed and Breakfast in Mansfield. Missouri population 1259. The room is called the Nellie room one of the characters from the Novels of Laura Ingalls Wilder for which the town is famous. Laura Ingalls Wilder moved to Mansfield in 1894 with her husband Almanzo and their daughter Rose, from South Dakota. Here they established Rocky Ridge Farm a large successful poultry, dairy and fruit farm on the outskirts of town. Their 10-room farm house is a National Historic Landmark and the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum, They also lived for a time in the Rock house their daughter Rose purchased for them. Laura Ingalls Wilder is known for the series of books she wrote about her childhood on the frontier called the “Little House”books. They were published every year from 1932 to 1943 describing her experiences from her earliest memories of the big woods of Wisconsin and the Kansas prairie to the golden year in which she married Almanzo. Her books were the inspiration for the long running TV series :Little House on the Prairie” (1974-1983). I don't know if you have ever been to a Renaissance Festival or not but they can be a lot of fun. Some of them are really big and some are small. We stopped into one today called White Hart Renaissance Faire in Hartville,Missouri. It is a quaint faire but the atmosphere is quite fun. A cannon sets off the festivities. We were met at the gate by dancing ladies and men playing instruments short video included. There are vendors and games even a pub if you want something to drink. We saw entertainers and I have included a few. Picture 7 is a young lady that sings, plays the flute and recites poetry for the crowd. Her name was ERMAGERDTHEBARD and you can like on Facebook or follow on Instagram. Picture 9 is ROWAN CROSSING, they are quite good and I have included a partial video for you to check out. You can also follow them on Facebook. Pictures 10-15 are the art of rat pucking. The guys use sticks and puck rats around the grounds placing them into the marked areas.

Today takes us to Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co in Mansfield, Missouri, Founder Jere Gettle started Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. in 1998 when he was a teenager, as a hobby, and though it has since grown into North America’s largest heirloom seed company The  headquarters in Mansfield, Missouri includes trial gardens, greenhouses, a pioneer village and a seed store, all on the homestead where Jere started the business. They also operate a seed store in Petaluma, California. Baker Creek began hosting festivals in 2000 as a way to bring gardeners, homesteaders and natural foods enthusiasts together to exchange ideas and seeds, learn from renowned experts, and enjoy vendors, old-time music and more They were having the garden festival today and we joined in the festivities. As we walked around we wandered across the blacksmith shop where nails and hooks were being made over an open fire. The next stop was an area where a spindle was being used to turn mohair and sheep hair into yarn. The smell of the baking bread and other goodies lured us into the flour mill. The Bakersville Opry had local talent performing and I have included a couple of videos from the elder to the young performing for the crowd. The Ozark Motel and Restaurant was bringing in the crowd,, we were unable to get inside. The house pictured is the historic Rippee homestead. We finally make it to the seed store. It is the biggest seed store I have ever seen. The wall is line with rows of seeds. There were musicians inside playing. Other rooms had wares of all kinds for sale. To complete the store there is a wall hanging made out of seeds.
